The DragonStage 4' x 4' Aluminum Sheet Panel All-Terrain Height Adjustable Stage is a modular outdoor stage system designed for uneven ground, sloped venues and event applications where an aluminum deck surface is preferred over plywood.
Each 4' x 4' (1.22 x 1.22m) stage module uses independently adjustable support legs, allowing different support points to compensate for changes in ground level while creating a level stage surface.
Seven adjustable height ranges are available from 0.4m to 2.0m (1.3–6.6 ft). The system uses a 6061 aluminum supporting structure, an anti-slip patterned aluminum sheet deck, and has a rated load capacity of 750kg/m².
Multiple modules can be combined into larger stages, with adjacent platforms sharing supporting legs and braces. Stairs and guardrails are available as optional accessories.

Outdoor stages face two different problems:
The ground may not be level, and the stage surface may be exposed to more demanding outdoor conditions.
The 4' x 4' Aluminum Sheet Panel All-Terrain Stage is designed around both requirements.
Its individually adjustable support legs help compensate for changes in ground elevation, while the aluminum deck surface removes the plywood walking surface used on the standard version.
The basic buying logic is:
Uneven Ground → Adjust Individual Legs → Level Stage Surface
plus:
Frequent Outdoor Use → Aluminum Deck Surface
This makes the aluminum-panel version especially suitable for event rental companies, outdoor performances, festivals, hotel grounds and temporary venues where the stage may be repeatedly transported, installed and cleaned.
You can explore other stage systems in our Stage & Platform range.
The biggest difference between this model and our plywood-deck All-Terrain Stage is the stage surface.
This version uses an aluminum sheet panel with an anti-slip checker / tread pattern.
There is no plywood walking surface in the deck.
This makes the aluminum version particularly attractive for buyers who prioritize:
frequent outdoor use;
easier surface cleaning;
resistance to moisture-related deck deterioration;
repeated rental use;
an all-metal stage appearance.
If most of your events are indoors or under controlled conditions, the plywood-deck version may still be the more economical choice.
If outdoor use is frequent, the aluminum-panel version is the natural upgrade.
Each supporting leg can be adjusted independently.
If one part of the venue is lower than another, the supports on the lower side can be extended farther.
The purpose is not to make the stage follow the terrain.
The purpose is to compensate for the terrain so that the finished stage deck remains level.
Typical installations include:
lawns;
courtyards;
plazas;
outdoor wedding venues;
festival sites;
temporary concert areas;
uneven paved surfaces.
For related supporting components, browse Stage Legs & Supports.
Different versions are available according to the required finished stage height:
Option | Adjustable Height | Approx. Imperial |
|---|---|---|
A | 0.4–0.8m | 1.3–2.6 ft |
B | 0.6–1.0m | 2.0–3.3 ft |
C | 0.8–1.2m | 2.6–3.9 ft |
D | 1.0–1.4m | 3.3–4.6 ft |
E | 1.2–2.0m | 3.9–6.6 ft |
F | 1.2–1.8m | 3.9–5.9 ft |
G | 1.6–2.0m | 5.2–6.6 ft |
Choose the smallest practical range that covers both your required finished stage height and the expected difference in ground level.
A taller stage range is not automatically a better choice.
Each stage module measures:
4' x 4'
or approximately:
1.22 x 1.22m
This module can be used as a building block for larger stage layouts.
For other individual stage-deck options, see our Stage Platforms & Decks.
A larger stage does not require every 4' x 4' deck to have a completely independent supporting frame.
When two modules are connected, the adjoining platforms share:
2 Legs + 1 Brace
This reduces duplicated support components and creates a more efficient modular layout.
Because of this design, the support quantity should be calculated from the complete stage layout, rather than multiplying one standalone platform package by the number of decks.
The supporting structure is manufactured from 6061 aluminum.
Together with the aluminum deck surface, this creates a predominantly aluminum modular stage system suitable for repeated temporary event installation.

Both versions use the same basic All-Terrain stage concept.
The main purchasing difference is the deck surface.
Aluminum Sheet Panel | Anti-Slip Plywood | |
|---|---|---|
Ground Adjustment | Yes | Yes |
4' x 4' Modular Size | Yes | Yes |
Aluminum Structure | Yes | Yes |
Outdoor Use | Stronger choice | Suitable depending on conditions |
Deck Material | Aluminum | 18mm Plywood |
Moisture Concern | No plywood deck core | Plywood requires more care |
Cleaning | Easier metal surface cleaning | More care required |
Appearance | Industrial / All-Metal | Traditional black stage surface |
Best Fit | Frequent outdoor & rental use | General event use |
outdoor events are common;
the stage may encounter damp environments;
rental equipment is repeatedly cleaned;
you want to avoid a plywood walking surface;
you prefer a metal checker-plate appearance.
most events are indoors;
the stage is normally protected from weather;
you prefer the traditional black stage appearance;
initial purchase cost is a stronger consideration.
The aluminum deck version is particularly suitable for stages that regularly move between outdoor venues.
Applications include:
festivals;
outdoor concerts;
public events;
street events;
temporary performance stages.
The attached reference product similarly positions all-aluminum All-Terrain staging for outdoor events and uneven surfaces.
Garden weddings and hotel outdoor areas may include lawns, landscaping slopes and changes in surface elevation.
Independently adjustable legs allow the platform to compensate for these differences while the aluminum deck provides a practical outdoor-facing surface.
This is one of the strongest use cases.
Rental companies cannot guarantee that every customer venue will provide:
flat ground;
dry indoor conditions;
the same required stage height.
An adjustable aluminum-deck system gives the same inventory greater flexibility across different jobs.
The modular design also works for organizations that use stage equipment across multiple indoor and outdoor locations.
Suitable for presentations, product launches and temporary event platforms where the installation site requires height adjustment.
Common layouts using nominal 4' x 4' modules include:
Stage Size | Layout | Decks |
|---|---|---|
4' x 4' | 1 × 1 | 1 |
8' x 8' | 2 × 2 | 4 |
12' x 8' | 3 × 2 | 6 |
12' x 12' | 3 × 3 | 9 |
16' x 12' | 4 × 3 | 12 |
16' x 16' | 4 × 4 | 16 |
20' x 16' | 5 × 4 | 20 |
These figures calculate deck modules only.
Leg and brace quantities depend on the complete stage layout because adjacent modules share supporting components.
For:
DJ events;
weddings;
small presentations;
outdoor ceremonies.
A lower height range such as:
0.4–0.8m or 0.6–1.0m
will normally be the first range to consider.
For more visible temporary performance stages, consider:
0.8–1.2m or 1.0–1.4m
At these heights, stairs and guardrails should become part of the purchasing discussion.
Available ranges include:
1.2–1.8m;
1.2–2.0m;
1.6–2.0m.
For high stages or significantly uneven sites, provide the overall layout and site information before ordering rather than selecting only from the height range.
Elevated stages require suitable access.
Browse our Stage Steps & Stairs for available options.
Guardrails may be required depending on stage height, intended use and local or venue requirements.
See Stage Guard Rails.
If wheeled equipment or accessible entry is required, consider Stage Ramps.
If you want to hide the adjustable support structure for weddings or corporate events, Stage Skirts & Covers can provide a cleaner finished appearance.
Do not automatically choose aluminum simply because it sounds more heavy-duty.
If your stage is used mostly indoors, a plywood-surface stage may already meet your needs.
Choose aluminum when its surface advantages solve a real operational problem.
Start with the normal working height.
Then select the smallest adjustment range that comfortably covers it.
For uneven installations, measure or estimate the difference between:
Highest Ground Point → Lowest Ground Point
This difference matters when selecting the correct support-height range.
Determine:
Length × Width
then calculate the 4' x 4' deck layout.
After the deck layout is known, the shared legs and braces can be configured correctly.
For occasional protected outdoor use, a plywood-deck system may still be practical.
For rental fleets or frequent outdoor use, the aluminum deck becomes a more natural upgrade.
Aluminum has clear advantages, but it also changes the product cost and surface feel.
Buy it because the application benefits from it—not simply because aluminum sounds more premium.
The individually adjustable supports help compensate for uneven surfaces.
They do not mean the stage can automatically be installed on any unstable soil, extreme slope or abnormal ground condition.
A 2m-high-capable system is not necessarily the best choice for a buyer who normally works at 0.6m.
Use the smallest practical range.
“Stage height = 0.8m” is incomplete information on sloped ground.
You also need to know how much the ground changes across the stage area.
Because neighboring decks share 2 legs and 1 brace, larger stage systems should be configured as one complete layout.
As stage height increases, stairs, ramps and guardrails become increasingly important parts of the complete system.
The supporting concept is similar, but the deck surface is different.
This version uses an anti-slip aluminum sheet panel, while the standard version uses an 18mm black anti-slip plywood deck.
The aluminum version is particularly suitable for buyers who expect more frequent outdoor or moisture-exposed use.
The walking surface of this version is an aluminum sheet panel, and the supporting structure uses 6061 aluminum.
There is no plywood walking surface in this model.
The panel uses a patterned checker / tread surface rather than a completely smooth aluminum sheet.
The surface pattern is intended to improve grip.
Yes.
Each support leg can be adjusted separately to compensate for different ground elevations.
Available ranges are:
0.4–0.8m
0.6–1.0m
0.8–1.2m
1.0–1.4m
1.2–1.8m
1.2–2.0m
1.6–2.0m
